From the Leadership Team
We’re finishing the first phase of 2019 strong! We signed three major contracts in the first half of the year: Library and Archives Canada’s “Gatineau 2” Preservation Facility; Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Energy Services Acquisition Program (ESAP); and the Bombardier Transport facility management contract. Landing these contracts has truly been an international team effort and a testament to what we can achieve when we work together. Congratulations to all who were involved—and that means just about everyone at the Montreal office plus a few in overseas, in Ontario and in the U.S. We already circulated the full ESAP team list. As for our other wins, thanks in particular to the core teams of Nicolas Vézeau, Ivan Bel and Rachael Golem for Gatineau 2, and Negar Farivar and Pierre Lapointe for Bombardier, as well as all those who contributed, of course. I look forward to working with the entire ENGIE Services team as we pull together to meet the challenge of delivering our 2019 full year results.
Now the “real” work begins to mobilize and transition the services! You’ll be able to read more about ESAP and Gatineau 2 in this newsletter, but two of these contracts involve operating the existing systems while the construction of the new facilities proceeds in parallel so working close with our partners, successfully recruiting and on-boarding dozens of employees, will be critical to our success. These projects have put ENGIE on the national map in Canada, but this also means all eyes will be on us, both internally and externally. We have a tremendous opportunity to show the world what we can do so let’s do this right!
On another note it’s will credit to the entire organization I can report that ENGIE Service Canada passed our ISO 9001:2015 audit and our certification is renewed for three more years. Congratulations to those who pulled together to make this happen.
In closing I would like to just say a few works about t Gwenaëlle Avice-Huet’s visit to ENGIE Services Canada office and the customer tours. I can say we were both inspired by your energy, dedication and ambitions for our business unit. Let’s continue our great work, and remember, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm,” Henry David Thoreau.
