What can be done to curtail global warming?
It is commonly known that reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is the key to fighting global warming. Many initiatives have shown promise and goodwill, but it can be difficult to determine which ones should take priority on the world stage.
Project Drawdown, the most comprehensive plan ever proposed to reverse global warming, revealed some startling results. Project Drawdown was conducted within a framework of introducing plausible and realistic solutions. We know that ENGIE can be a major player in the fight against climate change and the results show that we, indeed, have a big role to play.
Taking action brings results when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Properly managing refrigerants used in air conditioning units is one such solution, especially by avoiding leaks during the operation of equipment and by carefully and responsibly eliminating these refrigerants when the time comes to replace them. Although refrigerants used today are ozone friendly, they also have a direct impact on global warming. The potential for reducing GHGs by 2050 is to remove 629 million cars from the roads!
Wind turbines and reducing food waste rank among the top three solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Below is the top 10 list:
