For over 30 years, John Rohde has held roles of increasing leadership with Energy and Service companies.
Presently interim president of ENGIE Canada Services Investments Inc., he is also Chief Operating Officer for ENGIE Services U.S. & Canada he is responsible for delivering the core business and growth initiatives results, with the sales and operations leaders reporting to him. Based in Houston, John originally joined ENGIE North America, Inc. in 1999, serving in various positions including Vice President, Business Development, Vice President, Commercial Gas, and as Vice President for Technical Services and Infrastructure M&A.
Prior to his current role with ENGIE, John led the Power Business Unit for the U.S. and Canada for WorleyParsons, and prior to joining ENGIE worked for Mitsubishi International Corp. and Westinghouse (Siemens).
John holds a Bachelor of Science-Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston.
President, ENGIE Services Inc.
Pierre Lapointe is a graduate in building mechanics with more than 30 years of experience in building technical management and energy efficiency. In 1991, he joined the ENGIE Services team where is held the positions of Technical Services Team Leader and Director, Operations. In this capacity, he was responsible for supervising many operating contracts of a building stock of more than 20 million square feet. In 2007, also with ENGIE, he was appointed Vice-President, Business Development, where he signed several operating agreements for technical and property infrastructure that generated income of almost $100 million. Pierre Lapointe is currently Senior Vice-President, Operations and now heads up ENGIE’s North American activities, where he is responsible of all service managers across the continent. He supervises execution of assignments and client satisfaction, negotiation of contracts and riders, process improvement, budgets, and provides strategic planning and operational data for operations under his direction. He reports directly to the President of ENGIE North America.
Senior Vice-President Business Development

A mechanical/electrical engineer with a degree from ESTP Paris, Ivan Bel has worked years with international energy companies for 18 years. His first position was in civil engineering as a business engineer, followed in 2001 by research and development with EDF-GDF, whose gas division merged with Suez to become ENGIE, focusing on development of smart networks and energy efficiency. Bilingual and passionate about technology, he has been active in business development and joined the ENGIE Services France team in 2012. A few years later, his career brought him to ENGIE North America, where he took part in the acquisition and integration of companies in the energy efficiency field, especially Ecova and OpTerra. He joined the Ecova team to develop a strategy for exporting its know-how around the world and stimulating business development. He then moved to the OpTerra team, where he facilitated integration of the company into the extended ENGIE family and also participated in its commercial success. He will contribute his experience to ENGIE Services as Vice-President of Commercial Development.
Although he currently wears various hats, Ivan places key importance on innovation, creativity and energy efficiency in the performance of his work. Through his extensive knowledge of the North America business unit, which ENGIE Services joined in 2016, as well as sister companies and the group’s local and international players, Ivan seeks to help ENGIE Services reach its ambitious targets, refine and develop the services it provides, and conquer new markets, all while creating a synergy between the various entities that make up the business unit.
When not at the office, Ivan spends as much time as possible with his family. An avid traveller, snowboarder and photographer on his own time, he seeks to overcome the greatest challenge of the century: reconciling work and family.
Vice-President Legal Affairs

Jean-Marc joined the company in 2008 to be legal advisor for ENGIE Services’ technical services and energy managementbusiness in theUS and Canada. He holds a law degree (1983) from the Université de Montréal and an MBA from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Montréal. Jean-Marc began his career in Montreal in private practice representing businesses and individuals in commercial and civil litigation cases as well as administrative law matters. After completing his MBA in 1990, Jean-Marc moved to an in-house role in the manufacturing sector. He actively participated in mergers and acquisition projects as well as negotiations with major strategic partners in the office products industry. He was also involved in representations before regulatory authorities such as the Canadian International Trade Tribunal. In 2004, he transitioned to services as in-house counsel for a Montreal based transportation company.
His role at ENGIE Services involves the day-today management of legal and regulatory issues as well as support for the business development and procurement teams of ENGIE Services as its grows its business in innovative technical services, long-term energy and technical management as well as facility management. His work includes active participation in the internal approval process as well as the negotiation and closing of Public-Private Partnership (P3) projects in the US and Canada.
Vice-President, Human Resources

Appointed Vice-President Human Resources in January 2018, Marie Sampaio has extensive experience in Human Resources Management and more specifically in Labour Relations. She has been Lead Negotiator in collective bargaining agreements.
She began her career in the mining industry in South America and thereafter in Northern Quebec for the mining giant, Falconbridge Limited. She progressed in HR positions and has held upper management positions in Human Resources in the aerospace and construction industries for the past ten years.
Marie has a University degree in Human Resources and Labour Relations from the University of Québec in Montréal and completed an intensive program in Organizational Development from the University of Montréal (HEC). She is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration at Laval University.
She is a certified member of the Canadian Council of Human Resources (Québec).
Martin Bazinet, ing., CEM
Vice-President, Energy and Engineering Group

Martin Bazinet is a professional engineer with more than 20 years of relevant experience in energy management for institutional and commercial buildings. He is currently Vice-President, Energy Group and Engineering at ENGIE Services for facilities with a GFA of over 25 million ft2. He leads a team of over 15 professionals responsible for improving energy efficiency, occupant comfort and obtaining environmental certifications, such as LEED and BOMA BEST, obsolescence studies and investments plans, as well as analysis and recommendations for air quality problem. Through Martin’s leadership, ENGIE teams have generated annual energy savings of more than 20% for real estate portfolio with total annual energy costs over 25 million dollars. More than 70% of these savings have been generated through ENGIE’s continuous commissioning program without capital investment from the client.
Due to valuable work of Martin’s team, ENGIE has won numerous awards from AQME (Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l’énergie) in the Recommissionning category.
Beyond energy performance, LEED, BOMA and CAGBC recognition, accreditation and certification are evidence of this commitment to sustainability and Martin’s team continues to support and maintain the levels of certification and recognition our clients expect. Vice-President Facility Management & PPP

With nearly 25 years’ experience in the Facility Management Services industry, Nicolas is currently working as Vice-President Facility Management & PPP. In this role, he supervises the delivery of service contracts and client satisfaction, negotiation of contracts and riders, process improvement, budgets, and provides strategic planning and operational data for operations. He is also in charge of ensuring efficient transition and start-up processes in the PPP projects.
President, ENGIE MultiTech Ltd.
Luc Duguay has more than 20 years of experience in finance and is the CFO of ENGIE Services Inc. He manages a team of 10 accounting staff and leads the corporate finance team. Since 2008, he has actively participated to the various project finance deals in both Canada and USA, including the Indianapolis Courthouse Justice, the largest Public Private Partnership to date in the US. He has also spearheaded several due diligence reviews and acquisitions and works closely with the executive management team on strategic directions. Luc holds a B.A in public accounting from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales and an executive MBA in corporate financing.
